Xinia Guan
Xinia Guan (CN/USA) is a contemporary jewelry artist and educator from Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, China, currently based in Savannah, Georgia. Her work has received international recognition for its disciplined craftsmanship and refined formal language. Rooted in traditional hand fabrication, Guan’s practice emphasizes precise cutting and hollow construction, approaching making as a meditative process shaped by patience, repetition, and focused attention.
Drawing inspiration from geometric structures found in nature and systems of growth, Guan explores rhythm, unity, contrast, and balance as shared aesthetic principles. Through the deconstruction and reconstruction of micro-geometries, flat sheets of metal are transformed into dynamic three-dimensional forms. These works reveal a quiet vitality beneath rational order, inviting intimate sensory engagement.
Process is central to Guan’s practice, with each piece evolving through incremental gestures that honor time, labor, and material resistance. As an educator, she fosters technical rigor alongside reflective, intentional making, guiding students toward clarity, precision, and thoughtful expression.
