Pei Wu
Pei Wu (Taiwan) began her artistic journey in Taiwan, where she earned degrees in both architecture and art. Seeking greater academic freedom, she moved to Europe, where she discovered contemporary jewelry under the guidance of Mah Rana in London. This pursuit led her to Idar-Oberstein, Germany, where the secluded environment allowed her to refine her artistic language. Her work earned the 2020 Marzee International Graduate Prize, marking her emergence as a recognized talent in the field.
Now an independent artist, Wu’s work has gained international recognition, appearing in Metalsmith and Marie Claire China. Blending minerals, gemstones, and rocks into wearable sculptures, she views contemporary jewelry as an expressive and precise artistic language. Her creations capture moments of frozen movement, balancing softness with tension. Beneath their appearance lies a subtle sense of insecurity. Believing in the universality of human experience, Wu channels her deepest emotions into her work, forging profound connections with viewers.
