Nathalie Maiello is a contemporary jeweler from Montreal who currently resides in Middletown, Connecticut. Her work is a reflection on the emotional and ultimately transformative relationship we have to jewelry, its physical and material presence on the body, and the personal sentiments we develop as a result. She contemplates the perspective of both the person wearing the piece and the piece itself, and how each influences the other. Maiello is interested in ideas of escapism, relationships, connections, and jewelry as tools. Made in powder-coated brass and acrylic, her work is manifested through the use of colors, with a particular consideration of materiality and movement.
