Liz Willis
Liz Willis (England) is a jeweler who employs textile techniques to merge silver and found objects, crafting small pieces of wearable history. Using silver and hand-stitched silk threads, she introduces layers of color and texture, incorporating objects discovered through beachcombing, metal detecting, and mudlarking along the River Thames. She is particularly drawn to everyday artifacts—pins, buttons, and nails—handcrafted by past generations and bearing the marks of time through erosion and patina. By reworking these objects, she grants them a renewed presence and narrative.
Following a career in nursing, Willis returned to study and earned a degree in applied arts in 2008. She exhibits her work at shows across the UK, and her pieces are part of The Goldsmiths’ Company’s permanent collection.
