Eve Balashova
Eve Balashova creates striking, visually captivating, tactile jewelry using a combination of 3D printing and traditional jewelry hand skills. Inspired by themes of geometry and pattern repetition, she creates unique pieces in 3D printed nylon - light and durable material that makes wearing large, statement pieces an effortless experience. Balashova’s works are designed with ease of wear in mind, often featuring magnetic clasps. Her jewelry is a celebration of color, with each piece carefully dip dyed by hand, creating seamless color transitions. Her extensive palette is created by mixing various shades of dye together to create unique and sophisticated combinations. These subtle hues are complemented by handcrafted sterling silver elements, which she creates using traditional metalworking skills – piercing, scoring, folding and soldering. Balashova works in her studio in the West End of Glasgow and exhibits her work in the UK and internationally. She received her bachelors degree at the Glasgow School of Art in 2016, setting up her practice shortly after. Her designs have won two awards for creative innovation at the Goldsmith’s Crafts and Design Council Awards in 2017 and 2021.
