Danielle Gori-Montanelli
Danielle Gori-Montanelli (USA) is a multidisciplinary artist who has worked for nearly forty years as a painter, metalsmith, and fiber artist, exhibiting in fine craft shows, galleries, and museums nationwide. Born in Washington, D.C., she earned a B.A. with a concentration in painting from Sarah Lawrence College. A spontaneous summer at Penland School of Craft led her to jewelry, setting the course for her career. She began in New York City, working primarily in metal for a decade before relocating to Florence, Italy, where she spent another decade exploring the softer, more vibrant medium of felt while raising her family.
Now based in Middlebury, Vermont, Danielle creates colorful felt jewelry that playfully explores the natural world, and celebrates the beauty, curiosity, and gentle humor found in everyday objects. Her work has been featured in numerous craft and fashion publications and in several books on contemporary jewelry design.
