Claudia Vallejo
Claudia Vallejo’s jewelry is defined by bold minimalism and elegant design. Each piece is created by hand, beginning with sketches and models that she makes in her studio in her hometown of Bogotá, Colombia. Her designs are abstract, clean, and spare, rich with graceful curves, superb construction, and personal meaning. She uses only materials sourced in Colombia, including recycled silver and gold; much of the silver in her work has been melted from vintage cutlery. Trained as an anthropologist, she pushes the boundaries of metal to articulate the shape of her feelings, thoughts, and emotions while seeking to comprehend the relative nature of matter. She views jewelry as an introspective tool for self-discovery but also as a potential connection with the eventual wearer.
