Based in New York, Bianca Abreu creates contemporary jewelry that is sensitive to fluorescent light. Her works marry glass and sterling silver, highlighting the intense optic qualities of the two materials. By way of lampworking, she shapes the glass over a 2,000-degree flame; all parts are then hand-cut and set via metalsmithing. The resulting pieces transform throughout the day, shifting colors from aqua to purple, yellow to pink, green to gray, lavender to blue.
