Akvile Su is an Edinburgh-based Lithuanian designer and artist who works with recycled precious metals. Her practice is focused on the concepts of minimalism and sustainability while using traditional techniques in modern ways. Su combines and layers geometric or fluid shapes to create playful handmade chains, sculptural rings, and minimalist earrings. Inspired by fashion, the visual arts, and jewelry history, she works to refine her pieces to a timeless, elegant simplicity. She is particularly interested in challenging social norms surrounding jewelry, both in how it is worn and by whom, by striving to create gender-neutral pieces.
