Bracelets from the Helen Williams Drutt Family Collection

On view in the exhibition 45 Stories in Jewelry: 1947 to Now through January 10, 2022, a selection of rarely seen bracelets from the collection of Helen Drutt, the renowned educator, advocate for contemporary craft, and co-author of the seminal book on studio art jewelry, Jewelry of Our Time. The bracelet is elemental to the jewelry medium and its form has alighted the imagination of artists, designers, and craftspeople for centuries. In this focused look, bracelets created by twenty-two modern and contemporary artists exemplify the plethora of techniques and innovative materials that have advanced jewelry as an art form since the mid-twentieth century.

Organized by Helen Drutt with the assistance of associate curator Barbara Paris Gifford.

Bracelet, 1969-70, Bianca Eshel Gershuni (Bulgaria, b. 1932, active in Israel)
