Teachers' Professional Development: Tapestry Weaving

Wed, Aug 26 / 3–5 pm ET

Join us for an engaging virtual visit to MAD Artist Studios Resident Dance Doyle’s San Francisco Studio and learn the basics of figurative tapestry weaving with cardboard looms in this participatory two-hour workshop. Dance Doyle creates large-scale narrative tapestries that incorporate found and discarded objects. During her MAD residency, Doyle is creating shaped tapestry portraits informed by her research of the United States’ methods of handling individuals with mental health issues, addiction, and homelessness, with the aim of destigmatizing these experiences. Participants earn 2 hours of CTLE credit.

A Zoom link and list of materials will be shared with all registered participants in advance of the workshop.

Please review our health and safety protocols before you arrive. MAD strongly recommends all visitors six months and older are vaccinated against Covid-19 and visitors ages two and up wear face coverings, even if vaccinated. Thank you for your cooperation.
