Participants will explore the cultural, emotional and symbolic significance of jewelry in the exhibition Think Again: New Latin American Jewelry. In the studio, they will have an opportunity to create wearable sculpture inspired by a number of artists in the exhibition who magically create "something out of nothing". We will focus on using found objects and non-traditional materials that challenge traditional notions of what a "jewel" is, creating our own masterpieces out of objects that might normally be overlooked.
