It's a Mod Mod World This Studio Sunday will involve looking at jewelry and wearable artwork made by famous artists from the exhbitions, Picasso to Koons and Crafting Modernism. The discussion will evolve around what is "modern" today as well as what was seen as "modern" during the mid-20th century. After being inspired by our discussion in the galleries, the participants will create their own version of "Mod" designer jewelry using paper clay and other materials. No jewelry-making experience necessary -- this workshop is suitable for all ages (7 and up).
On the first Sunday of the month, join a professional artist to explore the galleries followed by a hands on workshop inspired by the objects in the exhibition. This program is suitable for ages 6 and up. At MAD, our goal is to make everyone feel comfortable and enthusiastic about the opportunity to learn through their hands while having a good time together in our galleries and studio. First come, first served.
