SOFA NEW YORK 2011—the International Exposition of Sculpture Objects and Functional Art at the Park Avenue Armory—is fast approaching. Please save-the-date of Wednesday, April 13, 2011 and plan to join us as we kick off this year’s Opening Night Preview of SOFA NEW YORK with a gala dinner in the Tiffany Room featuring “A Taste of New York” and honoring dear friend, collector, and patron, Judy Cornfeld. For over 40 years, Judy has assembled an exceptional collection of ceramics, glass, and jewelry. She has also been a stalwart champion of the Museum and has nurtured many artists in our field of contemporary arts, craft, and design.

To attend the gala dinner and enjoy a multi-day package of perks that we have planned, especially for you, during the run of SOFA from Wednesday, April 13 through Sunday, April 17 we invite you to secure your place in the MAD SOFA CIRCLE through the attached form. Highlights include:

  • The opportunity to join MAD Curators for a behind-the-scenes walking tour of the exhibition at lunchtime while SOFA is still being set-up.
  • Your very own “all night” VIP Cocktail Lounge/Dinner featuring “A Taste of New York.” Here, in the festive Tiffany Room, you will enjoy the company of friends and delight in food and drinks when taking breaks from the galleries and throngs of viewers. A silent auction, to benefit the Museum, will include restaurant packages, travel getaways and design objects.
  • Private house tours featuring architecturally significant apartments and personal collections of top collectors on Friday, April 15
  • Exclusive private tour of The Global Africa Project with Curator Lowery Sims on Thursday, April 14th at MAD.

This year’s SOFA NEW YORK will feature a number of new international exhibitors in decorative arts and design that you will not want to miss. Click here to reserve your place in the MAD SOFA CIRCLE today for a unique art fair experience knowing that the proceeds from your participation go directly to the support of MAD’s exhibitions and public programs.
