Professional Development for Teachers

Tue, Nov 8, 2011

MAD invites you to a Professional Development for Teachers lecture and tour of our newest exhibition, Crafting Modernism: Midcentury American Art and Design.

Focusing on the dynamic relationship between craft and design, the exhibition showcases the bold new directions taken in media and aesthetics in the postwar years. Featuring the work of iconic figures such as Wendell Castle, Charles and Ray Eames, Sheila Hicks, and Peter Voulkos, Crafting Modernism underscores—through furniture, textiles, tableware, ceramics, glass, jewelry, sculpture, and painting—the growth and transformation of American life in the period between 1945 and 1969.

Reservations are honored on a first-come, first-served basis. Seating is limited.
