Patrons' VIP Preview: Garmenting: Costume as Contemporary Art

Thu, Mar 10 / 5–8 pm

You are cordially invited to the Patrons VIP Preview of Garmenting: Costume as Contemporary Art, the first global survey exhibition dedicated to the use of clothing as a medium of visual art. This thought-provoking exhibition assembles more than 60 works from 35 international contemporary artists, including Nick Cave, Kent Monkman, Louise Bourgeois, and Mary Sibande, as well as several artists exhibiting for the first time in the United States.

The evening will begin in The Theater at MAD with a stimulating discussion featuring exhibition artists Zoë Buckman, Wanda Raimundi-Ortiz, Saya Woolfalk, and exhibition curator Alexandra Schwartz. Following the discussion, the galleries will be open for the preview.

Date: Thursday, March 10
Time: 5–8 pm, talk at 5:15 pm, remarks at 7:15 pm

We hope you will attend and help us celebrate the opening of this groundbreaking exhibition.

RSVP is necessary for admittance to the event.
