Join us for a conversation between British contemporary artist Brian Clarke and Paul Greenhalgh, Director of England’s Sainsbury Centre and curator of Brian Clarke: The Art of Light, opening March 21 at MAD. A champion of the integration of art and architecture, Clarke’s commitment to total art has developed into a Renaissance engagement with multiple media, from painting, sculpture, ceramics, mosaic and tapestry to sets for opera, the ballet, and stadia. Since the early 1970s, the British contemporary artist has collaborated with some of the world’s most prominent architects to create stained-glass designs and installations for hundreds of projects worldwide. Brian Clarke: The Art of Light is the artist’s first US museum exhibition.
