Artist-in-residence WonJung Choi works intricately in metal; in this iteration of MADmakes, she will lead visitors through an exercise using intricately cut paper that mirrors her own process to produce miniature objects that reflect one’s ever-changing identity. Visitors will choose from premade laser-cut forms inspired by Choi’s work, but will also have the opportunity to craft their own shapes, working with the artist to create abstract paper sculptures that represent their own identity traits and characteristics. Once completed, the miniature identity sculptures will be installed in vitrines on the 6th floor and will remain on view for museumgoers through January.
Please review our health and safety protocols before you arrive. MAD strongly recommends all visitors six months and older are vaccinated against Covid-19 and visitors ages two and up wear face coverings, even if vaccinated. Thank you for your cooperation.
