The MAD Ball Online Benefit Auction is now live on Artsy! The sale features more than 50 outstanding works from acclaimed contemporary artists and designers. 

HONOREES

Michael Bruno is the visionary founder of 1stdibs, the world's largest online luxury marketplace.  A dedicated historic preservationist, Bruno has restored several buildings within the village of Sloatsburg, NY to create the hospitality property Valley Rock Inn, which includes guest houses, two restaurants, a market, and a gallery. It is through architecture and design he reimagined and helped to revitalize the area. Bruno is currently working on his next venture with the creation of  Happy Time app. 

Laura and MAD Board Chairman Emeritus Lewis Kruger have been dedicated supporters of MAD Museum for over three decades.  A partner in the law firm Strook & Strook, Kruger joined the Museum’s Board of Trustees in 1990, providing legal expertise and business acumen that have been of immeasurable value to the Museum. A former dancer and owner of a jewelry gallery, Laura Kruger was a curator at Hebrew Union College for over thirty years. Laura was instrumental in the launch of The Store at MAD and MAD About Jewelry, the Museum’s spring fundraiser. 

In a career spanning sixty years, guided by a constant drive towards innovation and experimentation, Gaetano Pesce, architect, artist and designer, has created public and private projects in the United States, Europe, Latin America and Asia, in the fields of architecture, interior design, and industrial and exhibition design. Pesce has been awarded diverse prizes, including the prestigious Chrysler Award for Innovation and Design in 1993, Architektur und Wohnen Designer of the Year in 2006, the Lawrence J. Israel award from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York in 2009, and the GQ global creative award in 2023. Pesce has been the subject of numerous exhibitions and his work is in the permanent collections of MoMA, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris, the Vitra Museum in Germany, and other major museums worldwide. Collaborators include Cassina, B&B Italia, Bernini, Venini, Swarovski, Meritalia, and Zerodisegno.
