This summer, the Museum of Arts and Design inaugurated NYC Makers: The MAD Biennial, an exhibition that spotlights the creative communities thriving across the five boroughs today. Exemplifying the Museum’s ongoing commitment to craftsmanship across all creative fields, the exhibition serves as a platform not only for makers who typically display their work in a museum setting, but also those who operate behind the scenes. NYC Makers transforms MAD into a production studio, connecting elements of creativity, and innovation of skillful makers into one collaborative undertaking in the cultural capital of New York.
Join MAD’s education team to discover creative tips of interpreting and presenting NYC’s local cultural landscape as a bridge for comprehension in the classroom all year-round. Don't miss the opportunity to network with other educators while supplementing your existing knowledge of contemporary art, craft and design.
A select number of participants will receive free giveaways including limited edition NYC Makers: the MAD Biennial 2014 Tote featuring artwork by Jason Polan, People in Union Square, 2014 or the NYC Makers: the MAD Biennial exhibition catalogue.
This event is free. Registration is recommended.
