1987, Dir. Lamberto Bava with David Edwin Knight, Nancy Brilli, Coralina Cataldi-Tassoni and Asia Argento
Written by Dario Argento and director Lamberto Bava, Demons 2 shifted tone from its predecessor in style, but not in gore.
Moving away from punk and heavy metal music, Demon 2 showcased a new score comprised of British New Wave and post-punk bands including The Smiths, The Cult, Dead Can Dance and Art of Noise. Demons 2 also marked the acting debut of Argento’s now famous daughter, Asia.
Revisiting a movie-within-a-movie genesis for its flesh-eaters, Demons 2 centers on an outbreak of the undead within a newly constructed high-rise condo building. The unsuspecting guests of a girl's Sweet Sixteen birthday party are visited by a demon that crawls out from a late -night horror film on television.
Soon the building’s tenants are under siege from an ever-growing mob of vicious, brutal creatures eager to rip them apart.
