Artist Studios resident and bookmaker Chang Yuchen will lead a hands-on exploration of the book form. During this intensive workshop, Chang will discuss the history of artists’ books, share examples of her own, and guide workshop participants through variations of 3-hole pamphlet, hidden spine, and long-stitch bookbinding techniques. This workshop is suitable for all skill levels, and all supplies will be provided.
About the Artist
Chang Yuchen works in an interdisciplinary manner, perceiving embroidery as drawing, weaving as writing, clothing as portable theater, and installation as moving image. Visit Yuchen every Friday at MAD’s Artist Studios.
