Artist Bio

Li-Rong Liao is a Brooklyn-based industrial designer. With former training in Mathematics, Li-Rong’s design is always inspired by the simplicity and beauty of Math. Born and raised in Taiwan, Li-Rong moved to New York in 2008 to pursue the master’s degree of industrial design at Pratt Institute. She received her bachelor's degree in Mathematics from National Central University in Taiwan. After graduation, she worked as a research assistant in the Atmospheric Science department of NCU. Later on, she worked as a process engineer in Inventec, a manufacturer of notebook computers, phones, personal digital assistants, calculators and electronic dictionaries. As a daughter of an experienced seamstress, Li-Rong was able to explore her creative self since early age. In New York, she found her lifelong interest in design. As an industrial designer, Li-Rong is pursuing the sense of fulfillment and happiness through the ability of transforming her inspirations and imagination into realistic design objects.
