MAD Fun: Family Day

MAD Family Day offers countless opportunities for children to create learn and explore!  Begin your exploration in one of our special exhibitions, where artist-educators and docents will be on hand to provide insight into the creative process.  The featured works are sure to engage both children and their adult companions.

With breathtaking views of Central Park that will inspire children and adults alike, Family Day provides an array of exciting activities, including: intergenerational workshops where families will craft unique 3-dimensional objects inspired by the highlighted exhibition; selected feature films and animated shorts; special performances in our theater; and a chance to meet artists in MAD's Open Studios.

Daily Programs

Docent Tours and MAD's Open Studios provide daily opportunities for children and families to learn more about art and art-making.

Docent Tours
There are docent tours at 11:30 am and 3:00 pm, and at 6:30 pm on Thursdays. Docent tours are free with admission and meet in the lobby.

Open Studios
The Open Studios are open today from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm and 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm. Click here to learn more about the Open Studio program and artists.
