Arts Reach

Through the Arts Reach partnership, the Museum's Education Department is able to extend their reach to middle and high school students at Manhattan and Bronx Alternate Learning Centers (ALC). Arts Reach enables ALC teachers and the Museum's artist educators to collaborate and create opportunities for ALC students to learn about art, craft and design in conjunction with other subject areas. Over the course of the school year, ALC students partake in in-class group discussions about artworks and hands-on art making. ALC students also visit the museum to learn first-hand from exhibitions. The Arts Reach partnership strives to empower and nurture students in a positive environment that supports opportunities for expression, exploration and exposure to new ways of thinking.
