The (White) Elephant in the Room

SOLD OUT

Thu, Jan 18, 2024

Join Canadian philosopher of race, Alexis Shotwell, for an intimate discussion of Shary Boyle’s work in the artist’s solo exhibition, Outside the Palace of Me. Shotwell will discuss the historical formation of whiteness, the colonial origins of the term “white elephant” and its significance to the exhibition, and specific Canadian contexts that illuminate Boyle’s work on race.

The Gallery will open to discussion participants after the Museum closes at 6 pm.
