tactile landscapes

Studio Sundays, held once monthly offers countless opportunities to learn and explore. These intergenerational workshops are included with museum admission for families to work with artist-educators who provide insight into creative processes, inspired by MAD’s exhibitions. Each Studio Sunday workshop is unique, and open to anyone age 6 and up.

This workshop on tactile landscapes will explore the material and aesthetic possibilities of textiles as exemplified by of the pieces included in the exhibition “What Would Mrs. Webb Do?” Using the striking view of Columbus Circle from the MADlab windows as inspiration, participants will create an abstract landscape while exploring the possibilties of textile materials such as fabric, thread, and yarn in a layered composition.

Please review our health and safety protocols before you arrive. MAD strongly recommends all visitors six months and older are vaccinated against Covid-19 and visitors ages two and up wear face coverings, even if vaccinated. Thank you for your cooperation.
