Mads Mikkelsen (TV’s Hannibal, Casino Royal) stars as the surgeon Niels, whose wife, Marie, hits a young man, Joachim, with her car. At the hospital, Niels falls in love with Joachim’s wife, Ceilie. As the lives of these two couples entangle through the tragedy of the accident and resulting adultery, Open Hearts (Elsker dig for evigt) crafts a portrait of the ramifications of the seemingly uncontrolled forces in our lives.
