Kayo Saito’s work is closely linked to nature and the environment. She trained in Japan and the United Kingdom, and her unique sculptural jewelry is a hybrid of Japanese and British aesthetics and techniques. Inspired by the seasonal changes, rustling sounds, and swaying movements of plants and trees, she translates the abundant colors and textures found in nature into her own creative language. Saito uses her goldsmith skills to create subtle organic forms, forged principally from silver and 18-karat gold. She lives and works in the seaside town of Kent, UK, where the wild coastal walks, wide open skies, and proximity to nature arouse her creativity.
