Françoise Delaire is a French designer based in Clermont-Ferrand, in central France. She studied fashion and model-making and spent fifteen years designing wedding dresses, evening gowns, and gowns for special occasions. Her discovery of man-made fishnet and her taste for architecture and movement spurred her to explore other fields, including jewelry. Experimentation is central to her practice. She works in her studio as if in a laboratory, sewing, bonding, or welding the fishnet, and takes inspiration from nature, the elements, and buildings to create collections of weightless jewelry, as well as lamps and sculptures.
