Born and based in London, Jane Adam has been making jewelry for over forty years. In her early practice, she primarily used colored anodized aluminum, a medium in which her original techniques of coloring, mark making, and forming have inspired a generation of jewelers. She undertook extensive research into the qualities and possibilities of the metal, and its extraordinary versatility is evident in her work. Now, she also uses precious metals, pushing and stretching them so that form and texture evolve as she works—a much more organic process that relies less on a predetermined outcome.
