Join organizers of the New York City Community Land Initiative’s Education and Outreach media team for a presentation on Community Land Trusts, featuring Picture the Homeless’ Banking on Vacancy report, and discussion of sustainable, truly affordable housing for artists and all low-income people in the city.
In addition this afternoon program will include a short screening and conversation about the history and future of community land trusts in New York City. Ryan Joseph and Dave Powell will share selects from their forthcoming film, "It Took 50 Years: Frances Goldin and the Struggle for Cooper Square," which chronicles a multi-decade effort to establish a community controlled land trust on the Lower East Side.
