Interested in turning your electronics into miniature robots? Join artist-in-residence Kathleen McDermott as she leads a creative hacking event for visitors of all ages. Using common electrical items such as fans and vibrating toothbrushes, McDermott will demonstrate how to convert basic electronic devices into “little robot monsters.” Visitors will also benefit from discussing with McDermott the artist's own creative projects that explore the relationship between technology, the body, and personal and public space.
MADmakes is a drop-in, hands-on series where visitors can test their skills at art making and creative production. Led by current artists-in-residence, MADmakes offers visitors the opportunity to better understand and appreciate the workmanship that goes into contemporary studio practice today.
Please review our health and safety protocols before you arrive. MAD strongly recommends all visitors six months and older are vaccinated against Covid-19 and visitors ages two and up wear face coverings, even if vaccinated. Thank you for your cooperation.
