A Flaccid Domesticity with Colin Self, Jordan Isadore and Whoop Dee Doo
Thu, Apr 16, 2015
Dance, music and design come together to gleefully subvert the household objects that define gender in Flaccid Domesticity. This world premiere brings together choreographers, musicians, artists and teens to collaborate on a night of performance that asks, “Just how hard is your home life?”
Colin Self debuts a sampling instrument capable of haunting suburban vocal melodies, while Jordan Isadore presents a boisterous dance work and the collective Whoop Dee Doo unveils an experience created with teens. Staged in a new scenic environment comprised of slack household items by industrial designer Katie Stout, Flaccid Domesticity softens rigid ideas of the domestic life to create a home-wrecking good time.
