The Museum of Arts and Design (MAD) seeks a resourceful and people-oriented Membership Assistant to join the Institutional Giving team. This is a part-time position at 16 hours per week occurring between 11am and 7:00pm. Evening, weekend, and select holiday availability required.
This position reports to the Director of Membership and works collaboratively with colleagues across the Museum.
As part of the Membership Team, the Membership Assistant is responsible for increasing new membership acquisitions onsite by approaching, greeting, and engaging with Museum visitors. The successful candidate maintains a commitment to excellent customer-service and has the drive to help others and work together as a team.

Responsibilities
Proactively engage with Museum Visitors to drive conversion from visitors to Members while creating a memorable visitor experience.
Sell, renew and upgrade memberships while cultivating loyal Member relationships.
Provide Member support ensuring Members are informed of incentives, promotions, daily programming, events and other offerings at MAD.
Work collaboratively with the Institutional Giving Team to set individual monthly membership sales goals and generate action plans to meet or exceed those goals.
Participate in the achievement of the Institutional Giving team’s shared membership growth and retention goals.
Process membership sales in ACME, update membership records, fulfill membership benefits and send renewal letters.
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum one-year sales associate or relevant experience with proven results
A professional, warm, and positive attitude, coupled with strong customer service, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills to communicate skillfully with the general public and resolve complaints quickly and effectively
Interest and/or knowledge of the arts, especially art, craft, and design, with an eagerness to learn about MAD’s exhibitions and programs
Tech savvy; fluency and comfort using iPads
Highly motivated to drive revenue
Outstanding written and verbal communications skills
