Virtual Guided Tours

Explore MAD’s collection and current exhibitions with one of our dynamic docents. These hour-long, live virtual arts experiences via Zoom are ideal for family and friends who want to explore MAD together, as well as community, corporate, or academic organizations. Select a theme from the options below. All guided group reservations must be made at least 14 days in advance.

Current Exhibitions

Join us for an hour-long virtual tour focusing on one or more of MAD’s current exhibitions. Explore the colorful and emotionally charged stained-glass screens in Brian Clarke: The Art of Light, take a close look at intricate and monumental glass installations addressing mortality, identity, and excess in Beth Lipman: Collective Elegy, or learn about the narrative potential of craft jewelry in 45 Stories in Jewelry: 1947 to Now.  

Collection Highlights

MAD celebrates makers working in the traditional craft media of ceramics, fiber, glass, metal, and wood as they navigate the boundaries between the handmade and the machine-made, the decorative and the narrative, form and function. Explore collection favorites and hidden treasures alike, and enjoy a live, virtual studio visit with one of MAD’s Artist Studios residents.

Spotlight on Contemporary Practice

Explore how contemporary artists and designers are reflecting on identity, advocating for social justice, and building community in their practices. Learn about the materials and processes used in contemporary works from MAD’s permanent collection and enjoy an exclusive virtual visit to the studio of one of MAD’s Artist Studios residents.

Spotlight on Professional Practice

Go behind the scenes with an arts or museum professional during this custom-tailored virtual experience designed for high school and university groups. Meet a member of the MAD staff and learn about different careers in the arts from professionals in the field.

TOUR DETAILS FOR GUIDED GROUPS

Virtual Guided Tour Cost:

  • $150 for up to 20 participants. Additional participants are $8 per person.

Cancellation Policy

  • All reservation changes (including cancellation and rescheduling requests) must be made in writing and sent to groups@madmuseum.org at least two weeks prior to your scheduled tour.
  • Cancellations made with less than two weeks’ notice will not be refunded.
