MADmakes with Lucia Cuba

Thu, Mar 9, 2017

Join artist-in-residence Lucia Cuba as she shares basic tapestry weaving techniques and guides visitors through experimentation with woven pieces. Participants will work both individually and as part of a group, while engaging in an open conversation about the social issues that drive Cuba’s work, specifically health and its influence on Cuba’s “Exercises on Health” project. Woven pieces will be combined together at the end of the session and displayed on the 6th floor of the Museum.

MADmakes is a drop-in, hands-on series where visitors can test their skills at art making and creative production. Led by current artists-in-residence, MADmakes offer visitors the opportunity to better understand and appreciate the workmanship that goes into contemporary studio practice today.

Please review our health and safety protocols before you arrive. MAD strongly recommends all visitors six months and older are vaccinated against Covid-19 and visitors ages two and up wear face coverings, even if vaccinated. Thank you for your cooperation.
