MADmakes with Adam Ledford

Thu, Apr 13, 2017

Artist-in-residence Adam Ledford makes “ceramic portraits” of objects. In this iteration of MADmakes, join Ledford as he guides visitors in the creation of their own miniature ceramic objects that have personal significance. Participants will learn the basic properties of clay and discuss how shapes, surface designs, and patterns can be used to convey stories, meanings, and messages. Ledford will also discuss his own strategies for conveying different narratives in clay.

MADmakes is a drop-in, hands-on series where visitors can test their skills at art making and creative production. Led by current artists-in-residence, MADmakes offer visitors the opportunity to better understand and appreciate the workmanship that goes into contemporary studio practice today.

Please review our health and safety protocols before you arrive. MAD strongly recommends all visitors six months and older are vaccinated against Covid-19 and visitors ages two and up wear face coverings, even if vaccinated. Thank you for your cooperation.
