On Sunday afternoon, join artist educators Manuel Acevedo and Leigh Wells to explore NYC Makers: The MAD Biennial followed by a hands on workshop inspired by the objects in the exhibition. This week, participants will tackle animation. Stop motion is produced by arranging real objects, taking a picture of them, carefully repositioning the objects, then taking another picture of them to create a sequence of images that create the illusion of motion. Come to MAD and collaborate with your family and friends on an intergenerational stop motion animation project!

At MAD, our goal is to make everyone feel comfortable and enthusiastic about the opportunity to learn through their hands. We work to deliver a sensory-rich intergenerational experience for families to enjoy the museum together. This program is suitable for children ages 6 and up.

Please review our health and safety protocols before you arrive. MAD strongly recommends all visitors six months and older are vaccinated against Covid-19 and visitors ages two and up wear face coverings, even if vaccinated. Thank you for your cooperation.
