FAQs
Yes, the Museum of Arts and Design is wheelchair accessible to all galleries and restrooms. Wheelchairs are available free of charge but must be reserved 24 hours in advance by contacting the Visitor Services Center at 212.299.7717 or emailing visitorservices@madmuseum.org.
Photography is encouraged throughout the museum, with a few exceptions. Sometimes an artist chooses not to allow images of their work to be distributed outside of the museum. In those cases, we respect the artist's request, and we ask that you do as well. If you have any questions about which pieces are permissible to photography, you can always ask a museum guard.
In order for the Museum to consider the work, please send a digital image of your artwork, a letter indicating your intention to offer the work as a gift or for sale, along with detailed object information (artist, artist's dates, title, work date, process, dimensions, edition #, insurance value). The Museum will be in contact with you if interested in the work.
