SOFA 2008
The opening night gala of the exposition known as SOFA, (Sculpture, Objects and Functional Art), is held every year in New York at the Park Avenue Armory at 67th Street and Park Avenue. A well known benefit for the Museum of Arts and Design, this was the 11 year anniversary of MAD’s partnership with SOFA. Collectors from around the world participated in this event in order to be the first ones to see (and to buy) the items on display. This year's opening night was held on Wednesday, May 28th - with over 2,600 guests in attendance at the preview!
MAD's Benefactor and Patron purchasers enjoyed an intimate dinner in the Tiffany room, a curatorial tour and introduction to SOFA with MAD's Chief Curator, David McFadden, exclusive tours of 3 prestigious Upper East Side home collections and a private, behind-the-scenes hard hat tour of our future home at 2 Columbus Circle followed by a VIP cocktail reception on Thursday, May 29th.
