Call for Volunteers!
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
We need your help! The Museum of Arts & Design is looking for Visitor Services/Membership Desk Volunteers. These volunteers serve as liaisons between the different departments of the Museum and Museum members. They are dedicated to providing service to all MAD members and visitors in order to enhance the quality of their Museum experience.
Visitor Services/Membership Desk Volunteers provide a welcoming and orientation service to Museum visitors. Volunteers offer information about the museum as well as information about membership at the Museum of Arts and Design. Training is provided. Must be friendly, outgoing, and enjoy learning.
The Requirements
Opportunities are available year round, seven days per week, between the hours of 9:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. and through 8:00 p.m. on Thursdays. A weekly time commitment is required.
Qualifications
- Ability to work well with the general public
- Ability to handle multiple tasks quickly and calmly
- Positive attitude and friendly demeanor
- Good communication skills
- Ability to deal with large crowds and handle difficult situations professionally
- Willingness to help where needed
- Ability to stand for several hours
- Foreign language a plus but not necessary
- Interest in museum
