As part of the effort to create dynamic programs that best serve all populations and broaden its outreach, the Museum continues to develop programs of customized classes and tours for various audiences, including children, families and adults with developmental and/or physical disabilities.
Themed tours are developed around the needs and interests of participants and can focus on any aspect of the Museum’s collections and exhibitions. Touchable and visual materials supplement descriptions and discussions.
Special education teacher training programs, which are essential to continuing the art learning process in schools, are also held several times a year. These
workshops introduce elementary, middle and high school teachers to appropriate
strategies and art projects for their classes. By learning new creative approaches, teachers become aware of how to include art into their everyday curriculum.
